The Other Side of Africa.

Bloggers on Google+

Africa is one of the most magnificent continents God has ever made; the vegetation, wildlife, the beautiful view of a warm rising sun is incomparable,
Different languages, clans, tribes, different colours, but we can still afford to bond and speak one national language,
For instance in my homeland we are more than forty tribes, some of us are hunters others are pastoralists, and others are fishermen,
From the coastal region all the way to the northern parts of Mandera, Kenya is among the most captivating countries in Sub-Saharan Africa,

On a yearly basis, people from all over the world jet in through the air, sea and land just to enjoy the summer heat,
Others come in a sole mission of viewing the brown African Elephant, king of the jungle, basically the famous big five,
Natural features that have remained a mystery for centuries, like the place in Machakos where the rule of gravity doesn’t apply,
In this area no one has ever given birth to a girl child, the locals believe that a curse was planted by two men who once fought for a woman, many years ago,

Despite having all these unique features, rising up to fit in the world standards has been a great challenge to most of us,
Being raised in upcountry where there’s no WiFi, no Tv, no phones, no morden ways of communicating, was really a tough encounter,
With all these nerve racking hurdles, our parents still believed in us, they pushed us to sleep less and study more,
We did that, but after toiling through sweat and blood, the certificates are here we’ll packed, but we’re still hustling like school dropouts,

We voted in angels who turned to devils after a few months in power, they changed and started preying on us,
On our bill they plan for unecessary sittings in a five star hotel, to discuss on whether to prolong their holidays or not,
Instead of bringing on table a motion to build more schools in the remote areas, they’re busy feeding on a two-hundred dollar plate!
They have trained their tongues to pronounce sweet lies when the dogs start barking…Now this, is the other side of Africa!”

  2. The other side of Africa indeed—so contradictory. A different kind of leadership would let us create another type of narrative for our beautiful continent—a narrative that is both elevating and inspirational. Our leaders have failed us immensely. They don’t know where their priorities are.

    1. Perfectly said, Africa is a beautiful continent ruled by predators. They really don’t care about the upcoming generations! Very sad indeed 🤔💔

Our leaders have failed us immensely for their lack of vision. They don’t know where their priorities are.
