Why The Lion Doesn’t Greet Man

I want to tell you a story about Africa, about us, our life, that no one else has ever narrated to you,
First, If i’ve ever told you that I come from a wealthy family, please, I apologize it was a lie!
I grew up in a village far away from the face of the city, a land that rested at the foot of Anogu Mountain,
Not far from the place where Mulungu, the god of Akamba is believed to have stepped on immediately after descending from heaven,

Since our great grandfathers were hunters and gatherers, we had to pull up our socks lest we bring forth a poor generation,
Owning an acre of land in our motherland was more tougher than brushing the teeth of a crocodile, only the strong managed to place the demarcation,
The first huddle was to convince the king of the jungle to relocate to another plain, probably near the great mountain of god,
Now the battle of sending a lion out of his maternal home wasn’t just a walk in the park but a bloody encounter,

Even though the flesh eaters raised a white flag and veered away, a ferocious rivalry between man and the beast of land grew in a massive way!
Hyaenas would hide in the midst of the leafy scrublands and wait patiently until a sheep steps in the their territory,
Wild dogs too became vengeful, they would isolate a goat from the herd, scoop away the inner parts and disappear before it’s too late,
The baboons and monkeys waited until it was harvest time, when there was plenty of food in the shamba, things became tough for mankind!

It’s until then the local government decided to intervene, an area was set apart specifically for game parks,
Game wardens were deployed all over the country, some with helicopters others on foot,
They managed to drive all the animals into the specific units, leading the park was Africa’s largest mammal; the Elephant;
Peace and harmony rested upon our land, generation after generation the cycle of life went on..!
