The African Way [Part 1]

I come from a community where hugging your paternal father is a forbidden sin,
My fellow countrymen love joking about our distant relationships with our dads,
Someone said he would rather hug a live transformer than to willingly hug his Papa!
That’s how bad it is, although the new generation is trying to bridge the gap,

In my tribe, Akamba, women are not allowed to slaughter animals,
It is the sole duty of a man, to butcher animals then the woman cooks it,
When food is ready they are neither permitted to eat any meat from the legs,
Nor the part above the hooves of a goat, they say she will never settle in one boma,

Hence becoming a nuisance to her family members and the society at large,
She’s never allowed to touch the male organs of a bull nor eat of it,
It symbolises authority, power, dominance, and that’s what God created a man for,
There’s an African proverb that says “No matter how short an African man is, he will always be king.”
